Eid Mubarak

Tell us how you celebrated Eid el-Adha this year. Was it like this???????????

On the 22nd of Feburary 2002, coinciding with the 10th of Thul Hijja 1422… billions of Muslims around the world joined hands, stood side by side sharing the same smiles, joys and love for their family and friends as  they celebrated the blessed occasion of EID EL_ADHA.

In its yearly tradition, the ICPA of Sydney Australia spread its wings and graciously hosted the best carnival on its grounds at Bankstown. Hundreds if not thousands of Muslims turned up including the young and the young at heart to pray the dawn prayer and rejoice in the day long celebration. The carnival included joy rides, food stalls, book stalls and toy stalls and many other stalls that entertained and kept the Muslims of various ethnic backgrounds busy throughout the day. The atmosphere at the ICPA centre was excited with the presence of the volunteers of the ICPA chant group who gave every one a memory of the day as they chanted and praised the prophet with their enchanting voices.

Many politicians happily accepted the ICPA invitation to attend. Their speeches showed their support of the Muslim community in Sydney.

The festivities of Eid El Adha wasn't contained in the vicinity of Bankstown  and the ICPA centre alone. No! what happened in the ICPA centre was spread to all of Sydney. That’s because the MUSLIM COMMUNITY RADIO 2mfm on 92.1 was there broadcasting live Sydney wide. MCR --- the first and still the best Islamic broadcast in Australia echoed the joys of the Muslim community to all the residents of Sydney,, to all the Muslims who didn’t attend the ICPA and the Non Muslims. The correspondence was live and well heard Alhamdullilah. The airwaves of MCR extend Islam to Sydney siders and  by these same airwaves the MCR is a strong hand in bringing Non Muslims to Islam. We ask Allah to give us the sincere intention in the good deed of spreading Islam. May Allah protect for us the MCR from the enemies of Islam.

In the end I'd like to say May Allah accept your acts of worship and gather us all in paradise with the prophets, pious men and women and enable us to visit the prophet at his grave in Madina insha' Allah and in defiance to all who oppose our love for the best of Allah's creations, Prophet Muhammad. Ameen amen
