Morning and Evening Dua'
« on: Monday 14 August 2006, 05:04 »
An assrotment of Dua; from the Sunnah which may be recited in the mornings and evenings

 :-D :-D

Alhamdu lillahil-ladhe ahyaana ba'da ma amaatana wa ilayhin-nushur

                                             ( Upon waking up)

(There is none worthy of worship but Allah alone, Who has no Partner. His is the dominion and to Him belongs all the praise , and He is able to do all things.Glory be unto Allah.Praise be unto Allah. There is none worthy worship but Allah.Allah is the Greatest. No one can evade sinning except with Allaah's protection and no one has the ability to obey except with Allaah's help, the Exhalted, the Mighty. My Lord, Forgive me.
( Sahih Al-Bukhari, cf Al- Asqalani, Fath al-Bari 3/39 among others. The Wording here is from Ibn Majah 2/335)
(Whoever says this will be forgiven, and if He supplicates to Allah, his prayer will be accepted.) :-D

Alhamdu lillahi-ladhi aafaani fi jasadi, wa radda ^alaiyya ruhee wa ' adhina li bidhikrik

 :-D
( Praise be to Allah Who gave Strength to my body and returned my soul to me and permitted me to remember Him)

Allahu laa ilaha illa huwal-hayyul-Qayyum, la ta'khudzuhu sinatun wala nawm , lahu mas fis-Saamawaati wa-ma fil-'ard, man thal-laathe yashfa^u ^indahuu illa bi' idnihi, ya^lamu ma bayna aideehim wa-ma khalfahum, wa la yuhituna bi-shayiim -min ^ilmihi illa bi-maa shaa', wassi^a kursiyyuhus -Samaawaati wal-'ard, wa -la ya-uuduhu  hifzuhumaa, wa Huwal-^aliyyul-^adheem.

(Allah! There is no God than Him, the Alive, the Eternal. Neither slumbers, nor sleep overtaketh Him. Unto Him belongth whatsoever is in the Heavens and earth. Who is he that intercedeth with Him save by His leave? He knoweth that which is in front of them and that which is behind them, while they encompass nothing of His knowledge save what He will. His throne includeth the heavens and the earth , and He is never weary of preserving them.
(Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:255)
[Al-Hakim 1/562, an-Nasa'i and at-Tabarani]

Whoever says above when he rises in the morning will be protected from jinns until he retires in the evening, and whoever says it when retiring in the evening will be protected from them until he rises in the morning.  :-D

("(1) "Qul hu Allahu Ahad, (2) Allah-us Samad, (3) lam yalid wa-lam yuulad, (4) wa lam ya-ku-lahu kufuwan aahad")

("( "Say: He is Allah, the One! (2) Allah, the eternally Besought of all! (3) He begeteth not, nor was begotten. (4) And there is none comparable unto Him.
[Surah al Ikhlas , 112)

Hasbia-Allahu la illaha illa Huwa , ^alayhi' tawakkaltu, wa Huwa Rabbul-^arshil ^adheem

( Allah is Sufficent for me. There is none worthy of worship but Him. I have placed my trust in Him and He is the Lord of the Majestic Throne.) :-D
[Allah will grant whoever recites this 7 times in the morning and evening whatever he/she desires from this world or the next.]

Dua's for Faith

Allahummaj' alni miman tawwakala ' alaika, fakafait-tahu wastahdaka fahadaittahu wastansaraka fanasaratahu

Oh Allah! Let us be among those who had complete trust in Thee; so You sufficed them, and they sought guidance from Thee; so you directed them to the right Path; and they asked help of Thee: so you assisted them.

Rabbana 'afrigh 'alaiyna sabran -wa-ta-waffana muslimeen

Our Rabb! pur upon us perserverance, and cause us to die as Muslims.( Surah al- A 'raf, 7: 126).

Allahumma aqbil bi qalbi ila deenika wahfadh min warayina bi Rahmatika

Oh Allah! Let my heart turn with devotion to Your Deen, and save me (from every kind of evil ), with Your mercy.

Allahumma zayyinna bi zinat, al-iman, wa'j'alna hudatan muhtadin

Oh Allah adorn us with adornment of faith, and make us of those who guide others and are themselves of guidance.

Allahumma thabbitni-an azilla wahdini an adilla

Oh Allah! Keep me feet firm on Thy Right Path so that I should no stragger , guide me to the True Faith so that I should not go astray.

Allahumma inni asaluka imaanan daaj'man , wa hudan qayyijman wa 'ilman naafij'an

Oh Allah I ask Thee for everlasting Iman, and continual guidance and a useful Knowledge.
