The Two honourable Angels Haroot and Maroot
« on: Friday 09 June 2006, 07:59 »
Allah   Ta^ala told His messenger Muhammad , peace be upon him and grant his people salvation from what he fears for them, some of the disgraces of the Jews, the descendants of Prophet Israel. They didn't believe in either Prophet Muhammad  or the Holly Qur'an, which agrees with the original Bible that was descended on our master Musa (Moses), peace be upon him. The original Bible included the call to the belief that Allah   Ta^ala is the only God , and that nothing whatsoever resembles Him. It also ordained the belief that Musa was a messenger of God  and a prophet and that Islam was a religion and a commandment.

One of the disgraces, which were committed by those who were infidels among the descendants of Israel, happened during the era of our master. Prophet Suleiman . They had rejected the Zaboor. the book of God , and followed the teachings of the sorcery books that the demons had thrown to them.

In fact, the demons used to ascend to the atmosphere where they could eavesdrop and hear the angels conversing about some of what was destined to happen on earth that year, like deaths and disasters etc. Then, they used to go to those infidel priests who claimed to be clairvoyant and tell them what they had heard. Afterwards, the priests would tell everyone trusted them, so the priests started adding their own false information to their news, totaling seventy lies for each word. People then wrote those quotes in books. Hence, it was falsely spread among the descendants of Israel that the jinn and the priests knew the unknown, may God  protect us from such sin.

Consequently, our master Suleiman , peace be upon him, sent some of his soldiers to collect those books and put them in a chest which he buried under his throne. However, none of the demons could approach the throne for fear of being burnt. In fact, Suleiman  threatened, «If I hear anyone say that the demons know the unknown, I shall break that person's neck ». Consequently, the demons were enraged because God  had given Suleiman  a secret by which they obeyed him, despite their infidelity. So they served Suleiman  and performed heavy chores for him.

When Suleiman , peace be upon him, died and with the  decrease in the number of scholars who knew what he did with the books of sorcery and the "fact" that he buried  them under his throne, and with the succession of many generations, Satan appeared in the shape of a human being to a group of Israelites saying to them, « Shall I show you the way to a never-ending treasure, no matter how much you  When they said yes, he said, « Suleiman  was not a prophet, he was a sorcerer! So dig under his throne  However, the Muslims of the time became very enraged and protested saying,  “ Suleiman  was a prophet, a Moslem and a believer”

Conversely, Satan came back to adorn evil and tempted the unfaithful descendents of Israel, who believed him. So he went with them and showed them where the box was hidden. So they said to him, « You approach »! but he refused saying, « No I won't, but I'm right here, near you, and if you don't find the box, kill me »! so they dug and found the box and brought out the books of magic. Thus Satan, the damned, said, « Suleiman  used to control the humans, the demons and the birds with this magic ». So the unfaithful said, « Suleiman  was a sorcerer and this is the magic with which he commanded and subdued us ».

Then Iblis (i.e. Satan) Hew away and spread the lie that Suleiman  and his comrade Asaf Bin Barkhia were sorcerers, may God  protect us from such a sin. Asaf was the waliy who brought the throne of Balqis to Suleiman  by a gift granted to him by Allah   Ta ^ ala.

Hence, the Israelites' blasphemers started applying what was said in the sorcery books. However, truth must be told that sorcery and black magic are not deeds of either prophets or pious men. Besides, Suleiman , peace be upon him, couldn't have committed apostasy because he is one of the prophets sent by God , free from attributes non-befitting prophets and pure of major and minor sins, all bad deeds, vice and acts of baseness. Add to that he is pure of blasphemy.

The descent of Haroot  and Maroot

When the number of the sorcerers who were tutored by the demons increased during the era of our master Suleiman , and they claimed to be prophets and challenged people with their sorcery. God  sent two of His honourable angels, Haroot  and Maroot  to teach people about sorcery and magic in order to differentiate between them and miracle performing. In addition. He sent them to reveal the falsehood of the sorcerers in their claim of prophecy, and so that no one would be fooled by them. It is common knowledge that sorcery is opposed by more powerful sorcery and a sorcerer can be defeated by another sorcerer.

In sorcery there is so much delusion and incitement of imagination, there is deceit and which craft. Also, it is a type of service rendered by the demons to the sorcerers since the demons are created with impalpable bodies, which can not be seen by people.
