Your mobile phone, what do you like / dislike about it?
« on: Tuesday 28 February 2006, 08:13 »
hello

let's share our experience with mobile phones.

I used to have an Ericcsson. It worked fine, but was relatively a big mobile phone.

Then I had a Sony-Ericcsson. It was also fine, but its reception was not that great.

After less than a year, the phone displayed the text in a very funny way. That was inacceptible and I had to change it.

Then I got a Nokia 3310...  it was fine, fair enough, no antenna, but reception OK. Horrible thing is that the keyboard ofte got activated and the simple fact that the telephone was in my pocket made it that at times my phone called again the last called numbers........  I often had friends calling say "you called me but you did not answer. So what was it?" . That was inacceptable, and I had to change.

Then I had a Sony Ericcsson FP 700. that was terribly slow. moving from one menu to another was soooooooooooo slow.

Now I have a sharp GX30 and I am very satisfied with it. It  has a nice camera, 1.0 megapixel, voice memo, FM Radio, and even an mp3 reader.

the setback of this sharpgx30 is that it is slow when reading an mp3 file or loading a voice memo or a video clip

How about yours?????????

Please give a true review, not a simple " I hate this phone" or "I love that one"

I Had first a Siemens, horrible.
Then switched to Nokia 3310i , not bad, i gave it to my mother.
Then Nokia Panda "6610" : good sturdy one. But was stolen.
Then Nokia 6630. The 1.3 megapixel camera wasn't that gorgeous. & it used to hang.
I sold it, and contended myself with a sony-ericsoon j21i. simple & stupid & the keyboard so stiff.
Now i'm eyeing on the Nokia N70. Just waiting for its price to get down.

looks like you brothers have been through many phones

i used to have one which had a rather odd coloured case-almost burnt orange around the edges- that was small but could only store a few text messages and was pretty slow.

then i got a o2 x1b- again that was slow and would take ages starting up!!even deleting a text message would take time

NOW i have a samsung E330, its pretty good because i can store lotttts of texts in there and do the usual like take pics and send multimedia messages. its not WOW but its ok-think i was crazy when i paid for it though-regret it now!!!  :-)

cons: was expensive when I got it less than a year back. slow and crashes sometimes. not a simbian operating system.

I don't know. I think i may need it. It has a good 2 megapixel camera and lots of features. It's selling for 450$ now as brand new, and 380$ as used. Not that very expensive.
i remember the first days of mobile phones, when a heavy junk motorola used to be an 800$ worth. It didn't have mp3, camera, or anything. So 450$ is acceptable. But i'm still waiting for it to settle to 300$.
As for Advisor's 6230i, well u have to sell it i think as soon as u can. it's outdated. not a 3G technology, not symbian also.
How about to get a palm , Qtech or a PDA style mobile?

@Martin. If you really need a good cam get a seperate one or get N90 it's almost 500$
I don't need any 3g features(I don't even know what exactly they are but I'm sure there's no use for them in Lebanon)
I don't need Symbian much either,(it comes with virus Hazzards)

Dear Advisor,
I have a digital camera, a very good one: Canon A610.
But u never know, u're not always carrying it. & u need to capture the moment. So what to do? As for the 3G, soon it'll be available. Well let's hope at least.
I don't mean to ridiculize the 6230. But whenever people consult me about it, i just go like : it's useless, knowing that for its high price u can get a 7610 or 6630. Women tend to like it, since it's small, & they don't like something very complicated.
As for symbian phone & the viruses, well : u can always get an antivirus software.
The capabilities available for symbian phones are wonderful. For instance, u can have the Moazen software for all cities around the world, plus the qibla direction.
Well, if u're happy with it : keep it.
I was never happy but only with the bulky Panda that was stolen from me  :'(

In fact when I first worked in my first company they gave me motorola. I hated it so much: its menu, its look, its shape.. everything about it was disgusting..
Then I had an Ericsson 688. It was a bit better but not that much... then I switched to Nokia.. I liked it very much.. All nokia phones were lovely: shape, menu straight forward and their shapes as well. Until I moved to Siemens...

It is so disgusting... But I am obliged to hold it.. :'(
