Freinds, Freindly, Friendship...!
« on: Friday 28 December 2001, 13:57 »
Once I read this quote in an elementary English book...It says:

Don't walk infront of me, I may not follow
Don't walk behind me, I may mislead
Walk next to me and be a friend.

Yes, I think this is correct. Sometimes we badly need somone to be so near: shoulders the responsibility with you, shares good times as well as rough times, gives you advices, and makes you away from prohibitions.

But where is this friend these days? Though possible to find, but very rare....
The concept of friendship varied. Some people communicate with each other for personal benefits ....Akh!

Even if you are friendly...you might not get to know a good friend inrder to share a special friendship....

So what should be done? and how could we search?
Any idea?

assalamou Alaykom dear sister Rouba :lvlv1

I am so happy to see you posting at TAI, and specially here :bg :bg

First of all, I want to welcome you in "making Friends" lounge, you are very welcome here, and I am very glad to read your sweet writtings :lia

My dear, I don't think a friend, is someone you search for

A friend is someone special you find without searching:a1

Someone, who comes when others leave

Someone, who cares about you, and give you the right advice you need, in the right time

Someone you can trust, with anything (good or bad)

Someone, who might be near or far

Believe me sister, if you look for a true friend, you might never find him/her, but one day, you will see (or talk to) that person in the right time, and the right place:ho1

What do you think? do you agree with me?
I will be waiting for an answer from you (and everyone who reads this) :rdg1  I will be waiting for different opinions too :lbw1

Untill then

I wish you from all my :bh1  a very good time full of happiness(F), success(F), love(F), and rewards (F)

May Allah bless you

:bh1 :bh1 :bh1

True Muslim i agree 100 over 100. Sister Rouba life's experience will determine for you that you can not look for a true friend/a best friend like you look for a good fitting dress. Life isn't that easy i'm afraid.

Subhan allah True Muslim my heart leaps as i read your words of true fact and wisdom. Be sure of that Rouba. A sincere friend is a virtue not granted to all or to many. And the best thing about it is that it just happens between two people. One day that person is a stranger or worse still, one that you may avoid for fear of conflict. Then all of a sudden that same person displays qualities equal to yours. And surprise surprise you have a friendship based on respect and quality communication.

I didn't have the heart to delete your definition True Muslim so i am leaving them for added benefit to all. But would like to add that True friendship is found in Islam and is an honored relationship between two whenit is capsulated with faith and sincerity (trust).

:bh1 :bh1 :bh1
Rouba !!!! Dont look for a friend. Be honest to yourself and a true friend will knock your door one day. Remember all good things take time and if you haven't come across that good person yet, remember that the longer u wait, the better that relationship will be preserved when it comes to you at last..

I want to direct you to read on the wise and educational conversation on friends discussed by "Captain' & 'Baroness' they really said all that could be said on the issue with some additions from other good members as well. Look for the topics in this forum 'Making Friends'.

Read you soon my love:bh1 :bh1 :lia :lia

Dear True Muslim and Sweet heart:

Thanks alot for your nice replies. I think you're right...both of you.
Perhaps i was feeling lonely for a while and posted my letter....:(

Your words lifted up my spirit...so May Allah bless you

:s1

I agree now that a friend is not someone you have to search for....but someone whom you'll meet by chance...

I will say now another quote and hope you'll all agree with me, all of you:)

Friends are like stars......perhaps you don't see them, but they are always somewhere...

So....better no?:)

I hope to see replies and comments from all our friends who read this post....
Please be by my side this time:)

Bye for now

great quote really.... thank you so much  for reporting it here and openning the subject for discussion. :ohf1

true indeed, people in a society where almost everyone is fighting for power and positions, have to assume, most of the time, either superior or subordinate positions in the hierarchy ....

so where is the true friend who would walk next to you

yes, start by opening up to non muslims as well as muslims, and to find the best in everyone around you.....

do not wait for others to carry the light to enlighten your path ....          BE THE LIGHT
