Topic: Making new friends

Hello I am a 25 year old from Canada looking to make new friends. I am soon to be engaged to a wonderful muslim man and I am about to convert to Islam. I do not know any muslim sisters. My soon to be fiance's family somewhat approves of me but his father does not. I would really like to talk to some sisters and recieve some guidance if possible.

Thank you so much for your support. My question is, my boyfriends parents right now do not approve of me and my daughter that I have from a previous relationship. His mother sort of approves, her take on it is that its her sons life and if he truly loves me then she will learn to love me and my daughter as well. But his father does not approve at all. It has been very stressful on the both of us and I am wondering how I can make his father see that I am a descent person and that will be a good wife to his son?

the best way is by your behaviour. Insha'Allah when you are married and are being a good wife, then he will see that you are good for his son, that his son is happy insha'Allah and that he is only distancing himself from the rest of his family by his disapproval. Sometimes the only way to show people that things are right is by example. I pray that you are guided and that your future husbands family are guided also.
With regards to becoming Muslim, you know, you don't have to wait for a particular time, you can just the testifications right now and you are then Muslim insha'Allah. The words in english are I know, believe and declare that there is no God but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. You can read up more about this on other parts of this site. Insha'Allah do this, to protect yourself from punishment in the grave and dwelling forever in Hellfire.
