YES, all of islam is logical and I am open to discuss any part of it with you.

as for miracles, there are thousands of them, each being seen by a big number of people (true miracles, not the David Copperfield silly stuff)

I'd be interested to hear your view about the verse in the Qur'an that says a husband can hit his wife under certain circumstances.

1)  the verse does not say "hit". but it does involve some physical act, and I agree with you, this is not what I would recommend to any husband today.

2) the miracles, e.g.:

- draught --> water springling out of the fingers of the prophet to give water to drink for more than 1500 people
- healing --> very much as all of what is mentioned in the 4 new, especially John, about the healing miracles of Jesus Christ (peace and blessings upon him and his beloved brother Mouhammad).

The reasons I ask these questions Abdullah is because I truly wish to understand what it is that makes people believe in Islam, because I have lost my own faith. When I look back to when I believed in Islam, I am finding it hard to pin-point what it was that made me believe in Islam for so many years.

Even if my mum or dad says something incorrect, I would not hesitate to clearly voice out my POV.

What I learned is that it is not "Hitting". It is not "Beating", it is not "leaving marks".

How could you describe that in English? I am not sure which words to pick. Maybe I have to do research on this. (Selma Help….. )

Of course, we have not seen God, but we do believe in Him (because we can see the signs of His Power – The Creation (the world)- )

You cannot imagine that a huge number of people in one place at one time would all agree to tell a first-hand experience they did not see.

When I look back to when I believed in Islam, I am finding it hard to pin-point what it was that made me believe in Islam for so many years.

I am not surprised. I have heard similar statements by many friends brothers and sisters who doubted in the essential beliefs of islam…..

Any type of "Physical Correction" used on one's wife is unacceptable to me - I cannot believe the God of all the world would leave that in his last book to all mankindf for all time.

And you have not yet explained what exactly is this "Physical correction"?

You can't imagine how much I love my daughter…. But if I see her moving towards burning herself, yes, I would physically stop her even if the way I am stopping her would hurt her a bit and she won't like it.

I am sure you got me.

The goal is to stop the situation from worsening
