There is much more to travelling for hajj with/without mahram. Inshallah someone can explain it to you properly. I think that this might be an exception and not the general rule, according to certtain conditions.

If it was for the first time, a female can go to Hajj without a mahram, but this is only for the first time... After that, if she wanted to go to hajj again, she needs a mahram to go with. This is what some scholars said.

servant of islam.. i'm really sorry.. but i guess i'll ask a question here again... the prophet peace be upon him said as it was narrated Ibn ‘Abbaas may Allaah be pleased with him who said: I heard the Messenger of Allaah peace be upon him say, when he was delivering a sermon, “No woman should travel except with a mahram.” A man stood up and said, “O Messenger of Allaah, my wife has set out for Hajj, and I have signed up for such-and-such a military campaign.” The Prophet peace be upon him said: “Go and do Hajj with your wife.”

Meaning the Hajj without a Mahram isn't allowed. What prove did the scholars use to say that it's allowed for a woman to go make Hajj alone 'without a mahram' if it's the first time? That's all i ask and whatever answer u put.. i won't argue. but i want to know what was the other fatwa derived from.

assalamu `alaykum
We don't know the status of the hadith. We don't know the status of the translation. We don't know if it was her first Hajj. We don't know the other surrounding information; whether there is some contextual situation that affected the statement. etc.

ie, We are not scholars of ahadith just because we can use a search engine to bring one up. And knowing a couple of ahadith doesn't make us fuqaha.

wa 3alaikum assalam
the hadith is in both bukhari and muslim and i won't argue with anyone akhi. i asked to know what was the other fatwa based upon. Meaning, if there was another hadith elaborating on this one that i know of. where is the crime in this?
yes.. non of us is faqeeh or aaalim... didn't say otherwise abaleada.. but is being ignorants should be a reason for us not to read qur'an or sunnah out of fear of misunderstanding it? The hadith is written in a language i somewhat understand. i see no harm in reading the teachings of the prophet myself.
so no.. i'm not a faqih and thanks for ur understanding.
salam.

salaam

There is also this hadith:

In the hadith of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to `Adiy ibn Hatim we read: “If you live long, you will see the woman travel from Hirah (a city in Iraq) to circumambulate the Ka`bah fearing none but Allaah.” (Reported by al-Bukhari)

I just thought I would put it here, but I don't know how strong the hadith is nor how accurate the translation is.  I say this just in case somebody wants to refute the hadith.  My only reasoning for putting it here in the first place is because I was aware of the hadith, and I thought it may be relevant to the topic, so due to this, i thought I would share it as we are meant to share our knowledge.

Ok for some reason, i feel like I had to justify myself
