please remember always to have the intentions in your heart to do the good deeds and avoid the bad deeds,

By doing that Insha^Allah he help you doing the good deeds and avoid the bad ones. (Y)

I know sometimes it is hard for people especially in Western countries to find appropriate work but if it came to a situation where there were only haraam jobs around then it would be better for that person not to work. In this case the person could beg to get money but once he or she became solvent then they are no longer permitted to beg.

pumarage, I did say that when there are only haraam jobs around (as above) that the person begs before they take such a job. In the case where the muslim has a situation where there is a haraam job which may offer high pay yes we would encourage that person to take a halaal job even if it offers less pay. Insha' Allah such a person will benefit from such a choice and will be rewarded abundantly for his patience.
