There Is Great Misconception about Meaning If Jihad Not Even Non Muslim Even Muslim
Most of people thing that any war any fighting fought by Muslim is called jihad.
Jihad come from Arabic word jihada which mean to strive which mean to struggle and
In Islamic Context, Can Be on a Personal level--Inner Struggle against Evil Within oneself; struggle for
Decency and goodness on the social level; and struggle on the battlefield, if and when
Necessary. The often misunderstood and overused term jihad literally means "struggle"
And not "Holy War" a term not found anywhere in the Qur'an and Hadith saying of prophet.
If Student Strive or Struggle to Get Pass in Examination in Arabic We Said It is jihad
If politician strive to get vote in Arabic it is called as jihad, whether politician is good or bad
There Is Misconception That Jihad Is Only Done by Non Muslim but If You Read in the Quran that even non Muslim do jihad
And we have enjoined on man (to be good) to his parents: in travail upon travail did his mother bear him, and in years twain was his weaning: (hear the command), "Show gratitude to me and to thy parents: to me is (thy final) Goal.
"But if they strive to make thee join in worship with Me things of which thou hast no knowledge, obey them not; yet bear them company in this life with justice (and consideration), and follow the way of those who turn to me (in love): in the end the return of you all is to Me, and I will tell you the truth (and meaning) of all that ye did."

Here Quran Say Even The Non Do Jihad
it is mention in surah nisa 4:76
Those who believe fight in the cause of Allah and
Those who reject faith fight in the cause of evil: so
Fight ye against the friends of Satan.
So jihad is two types good jihad and bad jihad kital fi saballah means fighting way of Allah
And kital fi Satan means fighting in the way of Satan

quran 22:78
And strive in His cause as ye ought to strive (with sincerity and under
Discipline)
Those who believe and suffer exile and strive with might and main in
Allah's cause with their goods and their persons has the highest rank
in the sight of Allah: They are the people who will achieve (salvation).
Al mumtahana ch60v8-9
Allah forbids you not with regard to those who fight
You not for (your) Faith nor drive you out of your
Homes from dealing kindly and justly with them: for
Allah loveth those who are just.
Allah only forbids you with regard to those who
Fight you for (your) Faith and drive you out of your
Homes and support (others) in driving you out from
Turning to them (for friendship and protection). It is
Such as turn to them (in these circumstances) that
Do wrong.
'Fight in the cause of God against those who fight
You, but do not transgress limits. God does not love
Transgressors.' (2.190)
Say: If it be that your fathers your sons your brothers your mates or
Your kindred; the wealth that ye have gained; the commerce in which
Ye fear a decline; or the dwellings in which ye delight are dearer to you
Than Allah or His apostle or the striving in his cause; then wait until
Allah brings about His decision: and Allah guides not the rebellious. (9:24)
Narrated Aisha
The mother of the faithful believers: The Prophet was
Asked by his wives about the Jihad and he replied,
"The best Jihad (for you) is (the performance of)
Hajj." vol4.128 Shaih bukhari

i man ask should i go for jihad prophet said do you have parent
He says yes then prophet said the best jihad for you to serve your paerent
Here we find that jihad change according to suition

Ye are the best of peoples evolved for mankind

Invite (all) to the Way of thy Lord with wisdom and beautiful preaching; and argue with them in ways that are best and most gracious

You should not harm children,women,elder people not destroy house, trees a big list.
And Allah says in the quran in ch.2:v.190
Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight you but do not transgress limits; for
Allah loveth not transgressors.
Allah say in ch.2:v.193
Fight Those Who Fight You until there is no more tumult or oppression.
