Abdullah Yusuf Ali has translated the Qur'an and many other things to English.

Can his translations be trusted and are they accurate?

Please give your answer in detail and with proof whether his translations are accurate and trustworthy or not.

To be honest with you, I can't give you a detailed answer with proofs because I didnt read the man's translation.

I think that I did read once ABDULLAH saying that his translations are not to be trusted because he said many wrong things.

My advice to you is to wait for ABDULLAH or another modo who read the translations to give you a detailed answer.

Yusuf Ali has translated the Qur'an correctly. It is his own interpretations that he has put in that are false.

For example: In surah 5:6 I think, about Wudhu, he adds And WASH infront of feet, where it is apart of a sentence rub your head and feet.

The parts in Brackets are not written in Qur'an.

Another verse which comes to mind is about Aisha:
"Perhaps if he divorces you, his Lord will give him wives who are better than you, who submit and believe (Qur'an 66:5)"

If you read Yusufs version he added, once again in brackets, ALL after you.

.

one more word about our blessed great Mother of the Muslims, Aisha, and you would be banned. Read the rules of the forums....  you have no right to insult anyone, let alone the great Aisha, may Allah have mercy on her.

As-Salaamu ^Alaiykum again dear  :hearts2  z_mirza  :hearts2

I don't know about Kanzul Iman, but I do know that we should be very very careful about English translations. There may be some parts that are correctly translated, but few of us are qualified to judge this. I think of it like a delicious looking cake cut into slices, some of which are poisoned. I would rather leave the whole cake than take the risk especially when it comes to the most important aspect of life, our religion.

Some brothers and sisters are working hard on a reliable translation, we just have to be patient! It will be worth waiting for :apl1

Look forwards to reading you soon. May Allah Bless you,

Your sister
