Is Muhammad(sallallahu ^aleyhi wa sallam) alive?
« on: Sunday 12 January 2003, 15:45 »
Aslamolykum,
Dear friends. I'm posting on this site for the first time. It looks great Mashallah. Is Muhammad(sallallahu ^aleyhi wa sallam) alive? I realy need info about this. A Wahabi guy in neighabourhood is a real pain with his Dawah. Please give sound Hadeeths and Quranic proofs. Cause they only believes in them. I realy want to kick him. He decribes the incident of Abu Bakr (Radhiyallahu ^anhu) after the death of Hazrat Muhammad(sallallahu ^aleyhi wa sallam). That Abu Bakr (Radhiyallahu ^anhu) recited the Ayah's from the Quran and describe that Hazrat Muhammad (sallallahu ^aleyhi wa sallam) is died.

Wa'Salam

As salaamu alaykum wa rahmatuh allahi wa barakatuh....

In 11 AH, in the month of Safar, the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) fell sick. When the pain became too intense, he told Abu Bakr (may Allaah be pleased with him) to lead the people in prayer. In Rabee’ al-Awwal, his sickness became worse and he (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) died in the morning of Monday 12 Rabee’ al-Awwal 11 AH. The Muslims were grief-stricken by that. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was washed (ghusl) and the Muslims offered the funeral prayer for him on the 13th, in the evening, and he was buried in the house of ‘Aa’ishah. The Messenger died, but his religion will remain until the Day of Resurrection.

Then the Muslims chose the one who had been his companion in the cave and during the Hijrah, Abu Bakr (may Allaah be pleased with him) to be their khaleefah. After him, the position of khaleefah passed to ‘Umar, then to ‘Uthmaan, then to ‘Ali. These are the Khulafaa’ al-Raashidoon (the Rightly-Guided Khaleefahs), may Allaah be pleased with them all.

But surely he-sas is alive in jannah if thats what you mean?...

As salaamu alaykum wa rahmatuh allahi wa barakatuh

Maybe she meant in grave Yahya

In addition to what yehya said my dear sister, it's known in our religion that the prophets are alive in their graves, this is clearly taken from the hadith:

ÞÇá ÑÓæá Çááå Õáì Çááå Úáíå æÓáã: "ÇáÃäÈíÇÁ ÃÍíÇÁ Ýí ÞÈæÑåã íÕáæä"
The meaning is: Prophets are alive in their graves praying.

This hadith was narrated by al-Souyouti in his book :"Al Jami^ al saghir"as a hasan hadith.

Let this be ur proof my sis. :thumbsup

As salaamu alaykum wa rahmatuh allahi....

Surely they are alive in there graves praying before ALLAH' subhaanahu wa ta^ala.. But they are dead, as far as we are concerned..

In the Qu'raan it says in 39-30-"Verily you(o muhammed-  sallallahu ^aleyhi wa sallam) will die, and verily they too will die"....

Death in the essence of not being a living creature, not needing foor, or sleep, or bathroom facilities....

For the exception of Isa-as who was raised up by ALLAH-swt, did not die..

Qur'aan-nisa-4-157-"But Allaah raised him [‘Eesa (Jesus)] up (with his body and soul) unto Himself (and he is in the heavens). And Allaah is Ever All-Powerful, All-Wise.”

And we must not confuse the difference between a dead body, and a living soul...

At times our bodies can make ruku, and sajood...But our soul/heart will not have the intention of prayer.. and will be distracted... But our soul if in prayer... Will forget about the body....

 ALLAH u alim...
As salaamu alaykum wa rahmatuh allah....

The prophet peace be upon him died, we dont doubt about this, this is very known to all Mulims.

But he's alive now in his grave as he told us,praying, and this is not just by soul, he didnt say: praying by soul.

How can you be dead, and Alive at the same time?....

Neither of us are scholars, But its clear of Scholars fatwas that they are alive, But not alive according to our standards.... The Prophets-as are alive with ALLAH-(subhaanahu wa ta^ala) Just as so the martyrs are alive with ALLAH' (subhaanahu wa ta^ala)... This prayer is something that they are blessed with just as the people of paradise are blessed with tasbeeh.

Our standards of living include but are not limited to, breathing, eating, using bathroom facilities. Hearts beating, brain working, and blood circulating. If a person dies, all of this becomes disregarded, and upon there death, does the soul die? No, because we believe in the last day, ALLAH-(subhaanau wa ta^ala), and the Prophets, and the resurrection, and Jannah.... Our bodies, will be useless in the grave... Where upon our soul will be torn out of us, and the torments of the grave will encure onto us....

So again I'll say, ALLAHu alim....

And it is  narrated in a saheeh report that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The Prophets are alive in their graves and they pray.”

In the Qu'raan it says in 39-30-"Verily you(o muhammed- sallallahu ^aleyhi wa sallam) will die, and verily they too will die"....

Firstly you MUST take the Quran as daleel, then Hadith... If the Quran says Muhammed dies, then that is the word of ALLAH-subhaanahu wa ta^ala... and we must except it...If Then Muhammed-sallallahu ^aleyhi wa sallam says, the Prophets-As are alive praying in there grave, we cannot concieve this as alive in the sense of living.. Rather Something on ALLAH-subhaanahu wa ta^ala knows...

As salaamu alaykum wa rahmatuh allahi wa barakatuh

Praise to Allah Lord of the worlds, and I ask Allah to raise the rank of our beloved prophet and messenger Mouhammad and to save his community of what he fears for it.

my brothers and sisters.......

the issue is clear for the one who follows Qouran and Hadith

Allah says in the Koran

Åäß ãíÊ æÅäåã ãíÊæä ....

you will die and they will die.

and yes the prophet died…….

Blessed abou Bakr said then :

ãä ßÇä íÚÈÏ ãÍãÏÇ ÝÅä ãÍãÏÇ ÞÏ ãÇÊ æãä ßÇä íÚÈÏ Çááå ÝÅä Çááå Íí áÇ íãæÊ

Whoever worshipped Mouhammad, Mouhammad has died …..  Whoever worships Allah, Allah does not die….

Those words are clear ……  as clear as the words of our blessed sister servant of islam.

Read those clearly:

ÞÇá ÑÓæá Çááå Õáì Çááå Úáíå æÓáã: "ÇáÃäÈíÇÁ ÃÍíÇÁ Ýí ÞÈæÑåã íÕáæä"
The meaning is: Prophets are alive in their graves praying.

This hadith was narrated by al-Souyouti in his book :"Al Jami^ al saghir"as a hasan hadith.

Let this be ur proof my sis.

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) is alive in his grave in the sense of the life of al-barzakh, so he enjoys the blessings that Allaah has prepared for him as a reward for his great good actions that he did in this world. But the life in the grave is not like the life of this world, or the life in the Hereafter. Rather it is the life of al-barzakh which comes in between his life in this world and his life in the Hereafter. Hence we know that he died as other Prophets and other people before him died. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“And We granted not to any human being immortality before you (O Muhammad); then if you die, would they live forever?”

[al-Anbiya’ 21:34]

“Whatsoever is on it (the earth) will perish.

And the Face of your Lord full of Majesty and Honour will remain forever”

[al-Rahmaan 55:26,27]

“Verily, you (O Muhammad) will die, and verily, they (too) will die”

[al-Zumar 39:30]

And there are other verses which also indicate that Allaah caused him to die. Moreover, the Sahaabah (may Allaah be pleased with them) washed him, shrouded him, offered the funeral prayer for him and buried him; if he had been alive in the worldly sense, they would not have done the same as is done for others who die.

Faatimah (may Allaah be pleased with her) asked Abu Bakr (may Allaah be pleased with him) for her inheritance from her father (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) because she was convinced that he had died, and no one among the Sahaabah (may Allaah be pleased with them) differed with her concerning that. Rather Abu Bakr (may Allaah be pleased with him) responded to her request by saying that nothing could be inherited from the Prophets.

The Sahaabah agreed unanimously to choose a khaleefah for the Muslims to succeed the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him),  and that was done with the appointment of Abu Bakr (may Allaah be pleased with him) as khaleefah. If the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) had been alive in a worldly sense, they would not have done that. So this indicates that there was consensus among them that he had indeed died.

When the tribulations (fitan) and problems increased during the time of ‘Uthmaan and ‘Ali (may Allaah be pleased with them both), and before and after that, they did not go to his grave to consult him or ask him for a way out of those tribulations and problems, or the way to solve them. If he had been alive in a worldly sense, they would not have overlooked that when they were in such great need of someone to save them from the trials that surrounded them.

With regard to the soul of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), it is in the highest part of ‘Illiyyeen, because he is the best of creation, and because Allaah has given him al-waseelah which is the highest position in Paradise.

The life of al-barzakh is a special life. The Prophets and the shuhada’ (martyrs) are alive in al-barzakh as the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The Prophets are alive and they pray in their graves.” (Narrated by al-Mundhiri and al-Bayhaqi who classed it as saheeh because of corroborating reports in al-Saheehayn.)

Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“And say not of those who are killed in the way of Allaah, ‘They are dead.’ Nay, they are living, but you perceive (it) not”

[al-Baqarah 2:154]

This is a special life, the nature of which is known to Allaah. It is not like the life of this world in which the soul remains with the body.

The basic principle concerning the dead is that they do not hear the words of the living sons of Adam, because Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“but you cannot make hear those who are in graves”

[Faatir 35:22]

Insha'ALLAH may ALLAH-swt grant us to be Shuhada, so we can be Amongst the Shuhada before us, and amongst the Prophets-as....ameen

As salaamu alaykum wa rahmatuh allahi wa barakatuh
