the Ansar: means helpers. These were the people of Madinah who responded to the Prophet's call to Islam and offered Islam a city-state power.

the Muhajireen: means the people who do Hijrah (migration) .
The Hijrah refers to the Prophet's migration from Mecca to Madinah.

May Allah raise the rank of our beloved Prophet Muhammed sall-Allahu ^alayhi wa sallam.
