This world is a path to the Hereafter
« on: Monday 11 November 2002, 12:40 »
Alhamdulillahi rabbil ^alamin. Wa usalli wa usallimu ^alan-Nabiyyil-amin, sayyidina wa habibina wa ^azhimina wa qurrati a^yunina Muhammad, wa ^ala alihi wa ashabihit-tayyibinat-tahirin. ^Amma ba^du.

This world does not remain. It is like a path that leads to the hereafter, and then in the hereafter, either the person will remain forever in Paradise, or the person will remain forever in hellfire. This is why Allah ta^ala ordered us to prepare ourselves and check our deeds before dying.

Allah ta^ala said “Ya ayyuhal-ladhina amanut-taqullah, wal-tanzhur nafsun ma qaddamat li-ghad,” which contains an order for us to be God-fearing and to check our deeds in preparation for the hereafter.

This means that the person should do the good deeds so he will benefit from it in the hereafter. The proper way to success is for the person to do the good deeds and refrain from sinning.

The highest obligation and the basis of the acceptance of all the good deeds is to believe in Allah and His Messenger. As the Prophet, sallallahu ^alayhi wa sallam, said “Afdalul-a^mali imanun billahi wa rasulihi,” which means “The best of deeds is to belief in Allah and His Messenger.”

So, one must acquire the Islamic knowledge pertaining to beliefs.

We ask Allah to keep us steadfast onto Islam, and Allah knows best.

The most abhorrent sin is blasphemy, regardless of the kind of blasphemy. This is the sin which Allah will not forgive if the person dies without repenting of it.

If the person dies as a blasphemer, he will go to Hellfire and remain in it forever, even if he treated the people in a good manner, even if he gave a lot of charity to the poor. He will end up in hellfire and be tortured in it forever.

Allah ta^ala said “Innal-ladhina kafaruw wa sadduw ^an sabilillah, thumma matuw wa hum kuffar, falan yaghfirallahu lahum,” which means “Those who blaspheme, and they encourage others to blaspheme, and then they die on blasphemy, Allah will not forgive them.”

This is why a person has to endeavour to die as a Muslim. Because if a person dies as a Muslim, even if he died as an enormous sinner, if Allah does not forgive him, he will be tortured for a period of time for his sins, and then because of his belief, he will be taken out of hellfire and entered into Paradise.

Allah ta^ala told us in Al-Qur’an that Nabiyy Yusuf made a du^a and he said in his du^a a statement which means “O Allah, make me die as a Muslim.” We know that a prophet does not blaspheme, but this is to show us how important the matter of belief is. Also, Allah mentioned in Al-Qur’an that Nabiyy Ya^qub told his children to adhere to Islam and die as Muslims. This shows the importance of adhering to Al-Islam.

Al-Bukhariyy narrated that the Prophet, sallallahu ^alayhi wa sallam, that he said “Yakhruju minan-Nari man qala ‘La ilaha illallah’ wa fi qalbihi waznu dharratin min iman,” which means “The person who believes, even if his belief is weak, if he dies as Muslim, if he is tortured in Hellfire, he will not remain in it.” So a person has to protect his belief, and if he dies as a Muslim, this is what guarantees for him Paradise.

O Allah, make me die as a Muslim. (May Allah have mercy on those who say ameen).

nice topic
and it is true that how many of us have forgotten that we are not in this world for a race of wealth, and position.
in this race, we are crashing others that stand in our way.
we are seeking that pepole see us well : rich, well-looking, ... and we may forget our creator.
we forget the main reason why we are in this world. that we may die at any time, and be thrown in a dark cold grave. who from these people will care about us then?
it helps to remind me about the mistake that parents do in raising in their kids spirits this tendancy for egoism and superiority. that they should be number one in their school, strive for becoming an important figure in the society, so on.
