Ramadan traditions

Salaam ^alaykum...
As you all know Ramadan is tomorrow 6/11/02.....

So  I thought I would start this thread....

Alhamdullillah Islam has spread ALL over the world.. this has allowed many different cultures to be part of Islam… and people do different things on Islamic occasions…such as Ramadan…and ^eid…lets talk about Ramadan
For example,

The Lebanese people, usually break their fast by eating a Date and drinking some water (this is Sunnah), then we usually have soup, Tabouleh (Beautiful Salad), Kibbeh Nayeh (Raw meat with grains and onion, VERY NICE) then we have some Lebanese dishes…then we have sweets and fruit… and also drinks that are usually made especially in Ramadan, like Kharnoob ( I think its Carob in English) some Soos (licorice drink, I am not a big fan of that) and some Jalaab (I have no idea what that is called in English but its Beautiful) toot (a berry drink, don’t know what its called in English sorry)

Once I went to a Iftar at university with some Indonesian brothers and sisters… I took the whole family….how ever it was kind of strange for us because of what we saw…..our Indonesian brothers and sisters break their fast on dates and Water, then they eat fruit and sweets, then they take a break and eat cooked food like Indonesian curry and rice etc….

This was so strange for us because it is exactly the opposite of what we do. Subhana Allah…

So tell me what are you Ramadan Traditions?

I would love to know what our brothers in sister in Africa Europe Asia and other parts do in Ramadan, and what kind of food they eat???????
