As a fast proposal, the website is talking about Islam. As a user I would have presumed a totally diffrent interface with different color palette. Along with real usability issues i found on the current design that made me recommending to re-design this interface.

Plus, Islam isn't just a library of articles or books or some games to be played. Islam is a life style. This shall be visible through your website content and presentation. As a user, i would prefer if the site informs me (indirectly) how shall i live. Without reading lengthy articles, i should learn my religion.

i think i have an idea.
if we try to send emails to a large number of people.
we choose some sites and we send emails to all users.
this email have three goals.
the first is to do a survey on muslims and non muslims people , and some informations i will talk about later.
the second is for muslims, we ask some questions of their knowledge on islam,we collecte some informations and give them some help on how to grow their knoledge on islam and have a good relation whith god and other muslims.
the third is for non-muslims, we ask them if they know islam very well, give them some informations on islam and help them to become muslims inchallah.

Bid:We are now developing a muslim website, millions of islam websites are allover the web, if we wanna be unique then we must provide something new.
But something new isn't enough, this new thing must be attractive to make the person open the website, learn happily the beautiful traditions of our lovely religion.
Did you understand yet what I mean ? I mean we not only provide quran with the voice of all of the famous readers, papers, articles, tafseer, tagweed lessons those are spread all over the web.
But all over the web we won't for example find an islamic website with a children corner, or we may find at most one.. "I actually can't remember any of them now"
What do I mean with children corner ? To reach the minds of children we must provide islam in a new and an attractive way like e.g. flash games interesting and full of arts and animations that make them play happily, inside those games an interesting way to give them the lesson from the game, each level = a new lesson till reaching the final level .... now they learnt how to pray ... Got my point ?? This game teaches children how to pray, no need to tell them 1. say allah akbar 2. read soorat al fateha 3. ........ it may be level one in the game say allah akbar level two read al fateha and level 3 ....
Millions of lessons are now available for us, its a flash game for al salah another for alzakah another for alsawm another for al hajj another for treating their parents "berr el waledeen" etc.

Overview Draft

-To Comment or contribute please forward your thoughts to us

-If you could as well distribute the idea and post it in different forums and egroups to gather feedback, opinions and volunteers then ‘Jazaka Allaho Kheiran’

The century is the 21st, the language is technology, and the world is a single colossal virtual village.

There is no other time but this time to revolutionize the way Islam is releashed, communicated and made available to the masses.

123islam is all about simplifying the concepts, beliefs, steps, stories and backgrounders that can get any non-muslim up to speed on all what islam is about.

Reshaping the way Islamic knowledge is illustrated, is all what 123 is about.

Through the ‘123’, ‘what would it be like’, ‘wild cards’ , ‘souvenirs’, ‘wallet’ concepts, 123islam would work.

123islam Concepts

The 123 Concept

Imagine illustrating and explaining all islam concepts in 3 steps, simplified, specific and clear, anyone could apprehend and apply, giving him a starting point and a solid foundation from which he could continue on his own research and readings.

How to be a muslim in 3 steps

How to be a mo’men in 3 steps

How to be a mohsen in 3 steps

How to be a sadeq in 3 steps

How to be a scientist in 3 steps

How to be a husband in 3 steps

How to be a father in 3 steps

The ‘What would it be like’ Concept

Going through all Islamic centuries, what would be:

-the news bulletin of the nation

-the blog of Islamic characters

And what would it be like if:

-an Islamic symbol was your:

Neighbour, friend, colleague, husband, wife, father, mother, sister, brother, son, daughter.

How would you react if

-you lived in the house of, city of, under ruling of, during the time when.

-walked in the shoes of, ran as a ruler for, fought against.

What would a writer, cameraman or a producer take not of in:

-fotoohat.

-ghazawat.

-mawaqef 3adl wa rahma..etc.

The ‘Wild Cards’ Concept

If islam was a set of wildcards what would appear in cards of:

-islamic characters.

-islamic locations.

-islamic quotes.

-islamic stories.

-islamic relics.

-islamic accomplishments.

-islamic inventions.

The ‘Souvenirs’ Concept

-islamic souvenirs (from the openings, travels, messengers), showing places, situations, people, islamic timelines, maps, tools (used to write, cook, build, fight with).

Something that the user can actually go home with, reminding him of that incidence and reminding others.

It can be a printed on a soft (wallpaper, screensaver, gadget, signature, banner) or hard (T-Shirt, mug, pen, notebook, mousepad…etc).

The ‘wallet’ Concept

What would your wallet look like, with 123islam you would have:

-My 123 completed and still to-do list.

-My readings of Quran and Sunna, collectively through all articles, wildcards and what ifs stories.

-My favourite wildcard locations, characters, quotes, situations, stories.

-My interests group, people from the past that users can choose to be his group and people from the present (users just like him) he wishes to do activities with.

-My checklist, of activities, places to visit, conferences to attend, books to read, even sports to do…etc and with each of those a blast from the past could be popped up to show how the old did stuff like that in their own way.

With all of these comes reminders, ability to rank, comment, report abuse, digg, tag, share, recommend to friend, blogroll, print, even wiki and all of the other personalization and publishing advanced techniques available nowadays.

How to Participate

Participating in this idea would be by working on one of the following fields:

Content
This is all about the islamic content, figuring out how will such content be collected, who would collect it, who would provide its authentic background information, how would people trust that, will it be provided by a set of people or groups or organizations, who would be able to convince such groups or organizations to join in and participate with all the history and knowledge they got about islam to serve an everlasting and continuously growing and evolving ambitious project like this.
If you directly know someone or know someone who would know someone that could help organize meetings to convince content providers the importance of this mission and its impact on distributing islam across the globe in a way never done before, then talk to them, talk them into it, show them how this will last for generations to come.

Technology
This is all about the underlying containing structure that can hold in all sorts of islamic content and can serve it to all different types of users in all shapes and ways of representation, taking them back in time, or showing them islamic icons in wildcards, simplifying concepts in 3 steps or just holding what they read in a handy wallet.
It requires brilliant, agile and passionate analysts, developers and testers to get this together, and get it right.
If you know how to do such thing or know who would, don't wait, chances like this come once in life time and we all are striving for just one chance, a chance to serve Allah and our precious religion; Islam.

Resources
Maybe you are much better at other stuff, that are even more important that the two mentioned before. That is, building and collecting resources to get this running. Making a team, how to invite and encourage them to actually participate with all they got, is not an easy task. People are the at the core of resources, then comes finances and donations, and when both are in place, choosing hosting environments, both for the technology and the people who will build would complete the triangle.
This is a project management, human resources and head hunting challenge, but it is as well, giving people a chance to ride on Noah's arc away from the vast harsh waves.

Marketing
Pearls are not discovered until treasure hunters are after them. It takes planning, analysis, profiling, reading between the lines and outside the box to realize and grasp the big picture. Decisions, when to take them, how to take them and who to make them, all count.
If you are in the advertising, usability, researching or profiling fields, or someone you know, then this is how you can help, start now, read the non muslim mindset, see from their perspective and project that on all the project aspects and dimensions.

Choose whatever you desire, and let your islamic conscience drive you, I am no leader in this, my role is to publish my ideas and conclusions to the islamic world and then someone else and another and another should pick it up, enhance it and continue from there.

Below are the 4 basic imaginary wireframes of the website (Know – Live – Accomplish and Keep Islam)

Thank you for reading-
