Allah knows all
« on: Monday 21 September 2009, 10:48 »
Hi, i've a cousin of mine who ask me the question, & i want to get great answer from all of you to give him. i think i should answer carefully as his belief may hang on this answer. so here goes the question.

"Why should i do good or bad things when Allah knows i'm going to do that good or bad thing. i'm not praying cause i think Allah don't want me to pray. so i think Allah will give me that motivation and when that time come i'll pray."

Now to me, i'm thinking of a answer which is "Yes Allah knows all, whether you do good or bad things now, or go to heaven or hell. But you don't know that, so you should do the best to go to heaven." but i think i should add some more logic.

Please help as his faith hangs over the answer. thank you all in advance.

:salam1 Allah has given each of us humans a certain level of free-will too, everything in life is definitely pre-destined, but the way to do it is left to the humans to choose...for example, if ur in UK and u have to go to US...u have two ways available to u...one is direct..the other might be indirect...it is up to u that whether u like to go to US in one single flight or if u want to take stops during ur jrny...similarly, humans are given a choice to either go to the destination via the good or the bad way...and bro amar is right when he said that we have to be careful about what we choose to do! may Allah forgive us!!

Dear ALLAH has given us mind or brain to choose right or wrong. He showed us right or wrong path. Its not like he make every thing fixed in our life that we have to do this or that. Its all our intention, faith, true love to our ALLAH that we decide to perform actions. Those people who are weaker in their faith say that Every thing is written in our fate fate can be changed by prayers and action and true devotion. Hope so now your cousin will thing big  and feels better.

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Islam

1- Allah knows everything before they even happen because his knowledge in full, he created us and he knows what he created so he knows what we are and what we will chose and when and why.
65:12
{ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَ سَبْعَ سَمَٰوَٰتٍ وَمِنَ ٱلأَرْضِ مِثْلَهُنَّ يَتَنَزَّلُ ٱلأَمْرُ بَيْنَهُنَّ لِّتَعْلَمُوۤاْ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ قَدْ أَحَاطَ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عِلْماً }

(Allah it is Who hath created seven heavens) one above the other like a dome, (and of the earth the like thereof) seven earths but they are flat. (The commandment cometh down among them slowly) He says: He sends the angels down from heaven with revelation, Scripture and calamities, (that ye may know) and acknowledge (that Allah is Able to do all things) relating to the dwellers of the heavens and the earths, (and that Allah surroundeth all things in knowledge) and that His knowledge encompasses everything'.

2- ِAllah gave the human the abilities to choose and the will but his will is under the will of Allah because nothing happens except when Allah wills too.

example: a person may want to shoot someone and kill him, he might pick the gun and shoot the person in the heart but the person does not  die. This person did what usually kills but Allah did not will for the other person to die so he survived.

We might drive and cross a read light and nothing happens and we might cross it another time and die. It is by the will of Allah.

3- Allah is Just therefore he did mention in the Quran: (2:286){ لاَ يُكَلِّفُ ٱللَّهُ نَفْساً إِلاَّ وُسْعَهَا لَهَا مَا كَسَبَتْ وَعَلَيْهَا مَا ٱكْتَسَبَتْ

God charges no soul save to its capacity, that is, what it is capable of bearing; for it is what it has merited, of good and its reward, and against it is what it has earned, of evil and its burden: no person shall be requited for another’s sin or for what he has not earned, even if he was tempted to do it.

4- There are some things that human has no control over like his shape his color who is his parents.... if tomorrow he will get promoted or loses his job....

I hope this clear what others has been trying to say, And Allah knows best.

salam

Ok brother i know n agree then why some of the people start saying that if ALLAH knows all and ALLAH is one who is doing this all we just sit and wait things to be happens, Why ALLAH say every person to pray before him, Why people think so conservatively about ALLAH these all questions are annoying but if i have some one and he is really disappointed with his life how could i help them in understanding that ALLAH never wants bad for a person. Any help will be appreciated.

One should understand clearly that Allah’s attributes do not resemble anything
Allah’s attributes do not change.

Abu Hanifa said ( meaning) : … Allah’s attributes are not created, they are eternal and has no beginning. Changing occurs in creations (created things)…

Allah is attributed as  ^Alim (Allah knows all) that is not similar to our knowledge

We believe that there is destiny (Taqdir) and person can choose from permissible (Halal) and not permissible (Haram). We believe because our Prophet ( Solollohu alayhi wasallm) taught us to this.

We do not rely on our feelings. Human’s knowledge limited. Certain religious matters may seem contradictory. But they are not.

Let me give some example as quiz when something obviously seems in one way but the realty is different.

Assume you are weighing ten similar objects. You do this in two different ways.

1.   You weigh all objects together and got the mass of all objects weighed  together (M1)
2.   You weigh all objects separately taken one by one and  sum up all the weights You will get  the sum of mass of objects weighed separately (M2)

Question: Is there any difference in result. Are M1 and M2 equal ?
