Judged by Jesus?
« on: Sunday 01 March 2009, 06:32 »

I was reading Quran last night and something occurred to me.

The Christains always say that they will be judged by Jesus Christ, and have many scriputers to back it up.

What I noticed is that the Quran implicates this too.  Just not in same way.

The Christians believe that Jesus himself will be doing the judging of them.

However if I am understanding the Quran correctly they will be judged by Jesus just as all are judge by past prophets.

Not as they believe that they will be the last and final say on wheather we are good or bad, but rather the Quran would say that yes they will be judged by Jesus just it will be ALL_H who will ask Jesus did you tell these people to fallow me and only me.

Jesus would of course answer yes.

ALL_H did you tell them to worship you and that you where my equal?

Jesus will answer no I never implied such lies.

Thus the Christians will be judged by how he answers to ALL_H, and the fact that they rejected his message and distorted the truth.

So they will be judged by their Prophet just not in they way they think.

Am I getting this correct?

Just a thought

dan, nice topic, and a good question.

We ll be all judged none other than Allah. Nor prophets, nor people. Qur'an does not negate the returning of Jesus, but I do not know much on this subject.
Both the Qur'an and the Bible proclaim a final judgment. Some of the end times catastrophes mentioned in the Qur'an reflect what the Bible stated hundreds of years before Mohammed was born. Yet, there are a number of differences between the Biblical message and that of the Qur'an.
The Bible gives specific predictions of what will precede the final judgment. Prophecies concerning the spread of the gospel to every nation (Matthew 24:14), career of the Anti-Christ (Revelation 13) and actual location of the final world conflict (Revelation 16:16) are only a few of the numerous predictions. Specific predictions are completely missing from the Qur'an, but there is a much more striking difference.
The one Qur'an passage, which mentions Jesus on Judgment Day, pictures him on trial being questioned by Allah. Allah asks Jesus whether or not he claimed that he and his mother were two gods besides Allah to which Jesus replies that he would never have said such a thing (5:115-117).

I would love someone else to tell us more about this.  :thumbs

What I was trying to say was that Christians believe Jesus himself will stand over us and pass judgment on weather we make into heaven.

Although it is obvious that Islam does not agree with this, If I understand Quran correctly we will be judged by Jesus and other past prophets in the since that ALL_H will ask Jesus and other prophets “did you tell them to worship only me?”

Jesus (and others) will of cause say “yes I did”.

So we in a since will be judged by Jesus (and others) did we fallow what he said or distort it or ignore it.

The same I would be true with Mohammad (PBWH).  We would be judged on did we fallow what he told us or did we alter it or ignore it.

Do you see what I mean Jesus will not be the one judging us but because he preached to worship G_D and only G_D, we will be judged on how well we fallowed that message.

I just thought it was an interesting twist on the thought of being judged by, and how again Jesus (and others) messages would have been true had people understood what they were saying.

Hope it is a little clearer.

Dear Dan

I would like to suggest - if you do not mind - when you are talking about something you read in the Quran; can you help us out by giving us which surah and which ayah you are referring to, to enable us to go back to it and give our answer accordingly.

Is one of the places I speak of.  I know I found more where it talks about they days of judgment, but I can not find them yet.
Sorry for lack of quotes.  However, I am reading at work and loose them.  I usually highlight sections I want to find again, but do not want to disrespect the Quran.

Dear Dan

I checked the pages you referred to, and found these translation:

And when Allah saith: O Jesus, son of Mary! Didst thou say unto mankind: Take me and my mother for two gods beside Allah? he saith: Be glorified! It was not mine to utter that to which I had no right. If I said it, then Thou knewest it. Thou knowest what is in my mind, and I know not what is in Thy Mind. Lo! Thou, only Thou, art the Knower of Things Hidden? (5:116)

(Please note that (if I said it) here does not mean he ever said it, but in Arabic to show the opposite , like if some one says :if I was at your home you would have known).

I spake unto them only that which Thou commandedst me, (saying): Worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord.I was a witness of them while I dwelt among them, and when Thou tookest me Thou wast the Watcher over them. Thou art Witness over all things. (5:117)

(here it is clear that Allah is the witness over what all people say and do)
----

From all mentioned above, non other than Allah will be judging us at the day of Judgment.
May Allah forgive our sins and grant us Paradise.

Salam

Yes, I agree totally.

What I mean is Christians expect to be judged by Jesus.

However, ALL_H will judge them.   Instead, it will be Jesus’ own words that will convict them.

Because Jesus will say right in front of them, I told them that they are to worship none but ALL_H.  When they will be expecting him to back them up.

Therefore, what they have been thought is true will be their end and they will hear it from Jesus himself.

Yes, ALL_H is doing the judging but if my parent tells me that I have misunderstood what they were telling me my whole life, while waiting for their approval I would feel as if they had just condemn me.

I just meant this as an observation not as a debate on who will judge whom.

Are you sure Christians expect Jesus to judge them?
Are Roman Catholics, Christian?
I think some Christians expect to be judged by something that they call GOD, Which apparently is some kind of triumvirate.  :thumbs
