Was it appropriate for the journalist to fling the shoe at the President of USA?

I do not feel it is okay to fling shoe at anyone let alone symbolic figure like the president of USA.

I know I am US citizen but I feel the same way when us citizens are rude to other countries leaders or other symbolic figures.

We all need to support each other.

Just my opinion

Well, I think even the shoe was "reluctant" to hit the intended target - The throwing of the shoe at a President who unleashed the worst of military atrocities at unarmed citizens of a sovereign coutry speaks the mind of the Iraqi people i.e. "You are not liberators but are invaders, leave us alone".

That's what I think the "shoes" tell us - Also these two "size 10 shoes" embarassed the hell outa GWB and the Country he belongs to. I pity for the gentleman who is now being tortured in Iraqi police's custody.

The fine muslims in Iraq police will protect the shoe thrower. I believe this reporter merely wanted some attention as the incident would not lead to a change in iraqs humiliation at the hands of the  modern crusaders. saddaam h would have rewarded this reporter, alas he was murdered by devil bush.

Talk like this scares the western divination.  We are under impression that we where going to Iraq to help liberate people from Saddum who was a terrible cruel leader.

I know that our media distorts it, and we will never know whole truth of what is going on.
However, I feel this is true for all countries and not just USA.

If we are doing so badly then why did so many Iraq citizens help tare down statue of Saddum?

Why when we helped the first time in Kuwait, did everyone start naming his or her sons Gorge Bush?

We do not know all the facts and we never get to hear how you all feel in these countries, but we are told that we ate helping to end terrorism.

We have many people of many countries dyeing for this cause.  I do not feel we should show any resentment to them.

If they are being lied to then they thought they where fighting for a just cause and where willing to risk there lives for that.

I know this happens, but refuse to believe it is just USA that does it.  I am sure most countries are distorting truth to get what they want.

Bush will announce that the war is going better and al-Qaida is on the run, and then Osama bin Laden will put out video to say they are still as strong as ever.  He will point out if we leave then they will have won, so we are convinced that we should stay.  However, no one has asked the people in the countries how they feel. I mean the average person.

I think this is a problem with most governments and media but not just Bushes, or USA fault.

Lets all work together to find solution rather than turn on each other.  I mean no one asked me if I feel we should invade Iraq.  I would have said no.  Just as when media will point out that 3 Americans died today in Iraq, but barely mention the fact that 300 Iraqiees where killed.

This sells but the only ones who can change it is us the public of each country.  We need to demand truth and quit buying things that try to avoid equal time (if not more time) for the 300 killed from a different country.

I have rambled on long enough but please do not blame us most of us mean you no harm just as most Muslims do not want Americans to die.  It is the lies that are told and the extreme getting the attention.

Just had to get off my chest

Dnasim, there you go, you are completly under the "media spell", hey you cannot fix whats not broken, Iraq was not that bad, Kuwait was a US mess, for instance Israel attacked and captured Gaza and West bank, the UN never passed a resolution against Israel, but for the same crime Iraq was punished???

Kuwait was carved out of Iraq and Saudi Arabia, Ottoman Empire was disintigrated into 55 small countries, come on bro, you need to read history.

In early 1900s the British Empire "Mustard Gassed" the Iraqi population, what you gonna say about that, was there Saddam Hussain - and besides the same Saddm was paid $50bn for his good work against Iran by the ame Donald Rumsfeld who called him a satan later.

Can't you feel the Western hypocrisy here???

First, you are correct I definitely need to study history.

Secondly, I admit the atrocities that western cultures have done are bad and very corrupt.

This is why I was pointing out 300 Iraqis will die and all we talk about is the three dead Americans.

My point is exactly what you said it is media washing.  I can not know what has happened in Iraq or Kuwait with out it being filtered by government and media.

They only report what they want us to hear and read.  As far as Kuwait being part of Iraq before Ottoman Empire, well there where many courtiers which lost part of land from past.

However, this does not mean we can just go take them back.

I think you fail to understand I do realize what we do is wrong most of time.

Like Hamas, I do not know how any one feels about them but we told them to have election and they did.  Hamas won we should respect that.

My whole point is we all have made mistakes and done some good, yet none of us knows the whole truth it is al filtered parts of truth.

So let us concentrate on positive and work together to solve this, and throwing a shoe at any countries leader is not an answer.

We communicating like this so I hear what media does not tell us is a solution, but to do this we must respect all other countries.

By the way, I am always dogged on here because I always point out who are we to decide who is Wright and wrong and punish those who do not obey the us.  I fell this is why the rest of world hates us.

Not a popular thing to point out in US.

Let us work together
