True said brother. That is why it is essential that we learn arabic...even the various translations of the Qur'an can not fully match to it's true beauty...

am not as worried about the beauty as I am about being faithful to the true meaning of the original.

every time I read a translation where I know the original arabic text, I look for and get disappointed by the word-to-word translation..... Just imagine what it would be like if someone translated word to word to his or her language an idiom or a figurative expression such as "it is raining cats and dogs......"

If a person learns Aribic to better understand the Quran.  We he need to learn older form of Aribic?

As in the bible the is Hebrew and then old bible Hebrew.  Even the english versions there is old english and modern English.

So if I try to learn aribic must I study old form or is the Arbic of the past the same as present. ???

Just a thought

According to my understanding, there is classical arabic-used in the Qur'an and colloquial language, which is spoken like in everyday life.

All languages are difficult to acquire and there are different types e.g. dialect and regional differences in various languages, so i think arabic too is differently used in different countries? Please correct me if i am wrong, inshaAllah.

Classical arabic is not majorly difficult, my brother-in law learnt this [in UK] alhamdulillah. [/i]
