Disbelief and Shirk are two different things. Shirk is to adopt partners with Allah. People who make/carve stones into statues and then ascribe them a name and declare it as Ilaha, they are called Mushrikeen. Disbelief is not to accept, deny to accept the revelation and the Messenger and for it the Arabic word is Kufr not Shirk.

The word "just before death" I refer is before the "sakaratul maut" (I wonder what's the correct word, perhaps just "before death"?). Let me rephrase that again : There's always chance to enter Jannah if one repent before death.

Muslim believe that murder and ate during fast without allowed reason is a sin. Murder is considered a bigger sin than ate during fast. But the time one spend in hell is unknown.

everyone that is moslem. don't know with the rest. Still, in Jannah, there will be a rank/position based on one status. Just like in hell.
