How to dispose off something with verses written on it?

Assalamoalaikum
The two possible ways include:
- If you can remove it easily using some blanco or paint
- Letting it flow in running water like for example some river

That is very knowledgeable indeed!
But isnt it true that once, Umar Bin Khattab (RAA) burnt the unauthentic copies of the Holy Quran. So souldnt that be permissible?

However, I've also heard of people disposing Quranic verses by flowing them out in a river or a stream... that is authentic.

Also, if you have a bulk amount of such pieces, you could even place them in a Mosque... some other people might benefit from those extra ones you have.
