Thanks alot for the link, it helped a lot. For those who are too lazy to open the link and need an answer here, let me summarize:
A Muslim man may marry a Christian or Jewish woman (people of the book). However the couple should discuss and decide before marriage that the child will be raised in the faith of Islam.
Under no circumstances is a woman allowed to marry a non mulsim man.

If only the husband or the husband and wife are converting to Islam, then for both case they have to do re-marriage in Islam way as former marriage may not sufficient according to Islam laws.

unless a person who is a non muslim converts to islam..

If we are marrying for the sake of Allah, how are we doing ourselves a good deed when we marry a guy/girl whose a non Muslim out of other reasons?
Islam is a way of life, and how can we practice our way of life when we live with a person who is not a part of it.
