Marriage with Non-Muslims

Assalamoalaikum
This is a rather less complicated issue than marriage between Shias and Sunnis. A muslim boy is allowed to marry a non-muslim girl but a muslim girl is not allowed to marry a non-muslim boy. The simple logic behind it is lineage. The child is likely to follow the fathers side and therefore the above is important for a muslim lineage to go on.

Plus the fact that husband's influence is stronger, so he might turn you... Its not possible to live a muslim married to a non-muslim guy for any women.... I was once in love with a non-muslim too... It just... Isnt meant to be

And yes bro, u shud add that its permissable but not advisable to marry a non-muslim girl for a muslim guy... at least makes sense to me.

Yes, the mother does havea  greater influence on the children, and that is why it is stressed that the mother be Muslim. Because only then, can the children be Muslims too, as they are mostly under the constant surveillance of the mother.

Strawberrygirl, your post has raised a question in my head - You said the mother should be Muslim. If so, then even a Muslim guy should not be able to marry a Non-muslim girl. Which is not what i heard. Can you please confirm what you said and let me know? I shall be grateful.

I am afraid even I have become slightly hesitant to conclude anything. I hope someone can really give us a concrete answer so we can all be conclusive about this subject. May Allah guide us all.
