I noticed that this Topic is discussed already under "zawadj el Mutta" in Talk about Islam. Let us  read that first.

temporary marriage is allowed! If you find yourself in a foreign land and you are seeking to infiltrate the enemies camp you may have need of  a temporary wife,  this arrangement may help you fulfill your objectives, and can bring great benefit for your wife. as long as both parties are entering into this marriage with open minds and hearts and the intention of the marriage is to please  and not for a loophole for uninhibited fornication then it is allowed.

 
I read a lot about this kind of thing in the Quran.  What to do to or with the enemy.

Why is this?  This is what I feel tends to scare the Christians and others at my work and I am sure other places.

I can see where it my have been needed back when Quran was written with all the wars and all, but does it have a place now?

Do we really need to have a strategy ready for fake marriages to infiltrate the enemy camps?

Has the world come to this?

As a newbie, these things do scare me.

It almost sounds as if some are always preparing for war.

I hope some one can clarify this

The meeting ground is that according to the four schools of thought of Ahlul-sunnah the contract marriages were "denied" althoguh they were practiced before a "hurmat" was passed. But according to the Shia fiqh, they still believe that "Contract Marriages or Mut'ah" is still valid.
 
For Mainstream Islam, this is a "NO".
