Rules of Using TalkAboutIslam site and forums

Bismillâhi walhamdou lillâhi wassalâtou wassalâmou ^alŕ rasoűli-llâh.

The beloved prophet Mouhammad salla-llâhou ^alayhi wasallam says what means:

«Each one of you is a trustee (shepherd) and is accountable for that which is entrusted to him. A ruler is trustee and is accountable for his trust, a man is a trustee in respect of his family, a woman is a trustee in respect of her husband's house and children.». Narrated by alBoukhâriyy (2594). Ahmad (5287), atTirmithiyy (1806), and many others.

Thus, on  talkaboutislam.com we have a policy that aims at protecting our members, especially young ones. Hence, we do not allow what follows:

1. Links to websites, pages, texts, images, etc .... of illegal nature, pornographic, sex, wahhabites or related in any way to any heretic sect site, pretty much as we do not allow links to gambling, alcohol, and illegal drugs sites.

2. All messages that are out of the subject being discussed in the topics on the forums, or messages that provide no benefit whatsoever.

3. Messages and Topics aiming simply at advertising for other sites or forums of any nature.

4. All kinds of easy Copy-and-Paste of insulting or diffamating nature, or simply incorrect information, especially big pastes.

4. On a forum, you write your own point of view, not that of people you are copying. Not respecting this rule  would mean immediate deletion of your message.

5. Any kind or form of inacceptable language, especially those sentences (even in jokes) that are of insulting nature to any culture or race.

6. This list is not exclusive, and thus, we trust you and place our confidence in your intelligence and your respect of common sense of what is wrong.

Those are our rules, and you are strongly invited to respect those. Otherwise, please don't come complaining if your messages are modified / edited / deleted / marked / or if your username is simply banned.

If you wish to be read and receive an answer, here is our advice to you:

1. Respect those you are writing to (don't walk on anyone's toes)

2. Be rigorous: do not consider it "fine enough" to mention this or that name of whoever reference, but bring proof, true proof on whatever you are claiming. If you are discussing anything related to Islam for example, then you need to bring proof on whatever you are claiming, and this "Proof" means verses of the great Quran and sayings of the great prophet and trustworthy scholars of islam that support your claim. You should be able to mention which scholars of islam said what, where, in which book, on which page for example. Your own personal opinion is undoubtedly that of a high value for us, but NOT but not when you call what you like as "Halal" (legal in islamic jurisdiction) or what you don't like as "Haram" (illegal)

3. Be convincing and polite. Do not impose your ideas on others, but present your ideas candidly, keeping in mind that YOU might be wrong.

4. Be brief : very few members or visitors ever would take the pain of reading very long messages.

5. Be direct : don't beat around the bush. Just go to the heart of the issue and say what you wish to say.

6. Be wise : THINK before you push the "Send" button.

As a conclusion, the Prophet Mouhammad salla-llâhou ^alayhi wasallam said what means: "Respect the «conditions» of other muslims" (as our rules of use of our forums) Narrated by AlBayhaqiyy (11762), AdDaraqouTniyy (2932), Mâlik in alMouwatta’ (1447), and many others.
