Allow us to introduce ourselves and our site

We are a group of friends, students of traditional Islamic sciences and sometimes teachers. We are firmly anchored within the orthodox Sunni majority whose rigour and moderation we endeavour to represent. Our fundamentals are the Qur’ân, Sunnah (prophetic tradition), unanimity of jurisconsults and their jurisprudence. We work within the frame of the four schools of our virtuous predecessors: Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi^i and Hanbali . Our method in theology is Ash^ari and Maturidi and we strive to follow the Sufi path.

Our principles and teachings are on the same line as the teaching of Islamic Sunni universities around the world, such as The Azhar Islamic university in Egypt, The Na^imiyyah university, the Qarawiyin university in Morocco, Nizamiyyah Rizwiyyah in Pakistan, azZiyadah in Jakarta (Indonesia), asSayyid Madaniyy in India and azZaytouna in Tunisia.

We encourage our members and visitors to seek real Islamic knowledge, with all the richness of its traditions and moral standards.

We wish to demystify Islam, that is to say we try and show to the world, through logical arguments and constructive discussions, that Islam is not what extremist groups claim it to be.

We, as the moderating and managing team of TalkAboutIslam and as reasonable Muslims, followers of the path of Ahlu sSunnah walJamâ^ah , assume entirely our responsibility as open-minded educated Muslims to warn the youth against following the extremists ideas.

We do not represent any government or NGO, and every member of our site and forums represents only himself or herself.
